So here is where I am supposed to say something of some import.
The editor's desk is historically a place for rants, venting, and political editorializing. This is where you will find every raw piece of concept that couldn't be made into an article, every opinion that couldn't be backed up with fact, every random thought from some girl or guy who happens to be editor-in-chief of a publication. In short, it is self-serving and egotistical; not to mention boring.
You won't find that here. Well, you will in the future, but not right now. I am going to spare you the melodrama and introduce you instead to our web zine.
Jaded Times, being a web zine, is not really based anywhere. We didn't really want to do something different for the sake of different, so we decided, hey, let's just do something good. Or perhaps well? Off to a great start.
Our writers are from all over and write for us out of the kindness of their hearts (since we can't afford to pay them). Same goes for our layout designers, editors, artists, etc. We are all overworked and stressed, so deadlines mean very little at this point, though we definitely try.
As for when these actual deadlines are (i.e., when the site is updated), this will vary. The columns will be updated every other week, while features will be added when we receive them. The comics (which will hopefully be up sometime soon) will be updated at various times based on what the artists decide. The reviews section will be updated weekly, provided we have new stuff to review. The featured artist will be changed monthly. And my desk, cluttered as it is, will be updated whenever I feel like inundating you with the random gibberish floating around my head. Consider that fair warning.
That's about it. Welcome to "Issue 1". We hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoy being done with it.
