Tilly and the Wall suffer from association stress disorder, or ASD. They are from Omaha and have tons of ties to the Saddle Creek scene; indeed, their debut full-length will be released by Conor (Bright Eyes) Oberst's new label, Team Love. However, connections and hype don't necessarily mean a band needs it, and much like similar sufferers the 1989 Chicago Cubs and Head of Femur, Tilly and the Wall are an original, creative project that will do fine regardless of their name dropping abilities.
Sadly, the 7" suffers from a repetitive and rather unimaginative acoustic a-side, which may turn a lot of people off. Which would ultimately be a tragedy, as the two b-side tracks are both charming and fun, folk rock sung slightly off-key in an endearing manner. It's a fun cross between folk and campfire songs, and leaves you wanting more.
The b-sides make it way worth picking up, plus it is limited edition and pressed on clear green vinyl...
