There's something oddly satisfying about listening to a Dutch hardcore band's posthumous recording from an DIY label in Nevada. It's like if you could only see a Rembrandt in a Mcdonald's off I-5 in Redding, CA. While the Rembrandt comparison may be a bit much for this band, it was nice to actually hear a good record after the initial chuckle due to globalisation irony wore off.

And don't mistake it, this is quite a good record. Though 4 songs in 2 years might be a bit long, remember it took the three years for the police to write "Dont stand so close to me 86" and that song just SUCKED. On a few listenings, you realize 4 songs is perfect, any more would just be wanking.

The record overall flows well, and continues the slow building upon stones laid by one last wish, sunny day real estate, and at the drive in. "Scenekillers" (track 2) is quite a standout, as is "Broadway" (nice drums on that one). Lyrically, the singer suffers from the diction problems that come from shredding your throat at every opprotunity, but the emotions are there, and that's what matters in the end. Or mattered, really.
